We’re Latricia “Trish” Hines and Vernard “The Laugh Therapist” Hines a purpose-driven, faith-filled couple committed to helping marriages, blended families, and individuals find healing, unity, and joy.

We don’t just teach restoration we have lived experiences.

Together, we’ve walked through trauma, transitions, parenting challenges, military life, PTSD, and the beautiful chaos of blending two lives (and five kids and three grandchildren!) into one family. Through every season, we’ve learned this truth: God can use pain as a platform, and purpose as a pathway to peace.

 

What We Do:

Through United On Purpose, we walk alongside couples and families who want to grow stronger not perfect.

From premarital coaching to blended-family support and military marriages, our heart is to help you build with intentionality, laugh through the mess, and love each other with grace.

Why We Do It:

We believe marriage is ministry, and healing happens when we show up together.

We’ve lived through pain.
We’ve fought for peace.
And we’ve seen firsthand that when two people commit to grow and heal on purpose, there’s no limit to what God can do through them.

Fun Facts About Us:

• Vernard and Trish met at the Funny Bone Comedy Club.
  (He tells jokes and Trish occasionally writes some.)

• Vernard loves Virginia Tech sports and told Trish VT stands for Vernard and Trish so she would where Virginia Tech gear.

• Trish has 2 spoiled dogs Hokie and Ky who are convinced they run the house.

• Vernard as Therapist He is not Licensed just Medicated and a Peer Recovery Specialist with the State of Virginia
